Grand Opening of Kau-Criar

UNDP Guinea-Bissau will launch Kau-Criar – Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Opportunities, a center that will offer a physical and digital space for entrepreneurial opportunities, training, creation, and events in Guinea Bissau.

Goals

• Drive inclusive opportunities for young people and innovators, fill gaps in the start-up and innovation ecosystem in Guinea-Bissau.
• Provide a space to boost Guinea-Bissau’s vibrant entrepreneurial spirit, cultivate start-ups and foster the necessary capabilities that will generate multiplier effects across the nation and beyond.
  1. – Capitalize on the entrepreneurial spirit of women and young people.
  2. – Remove barriers that hinder the development of an innovation ecosystem and start-ups.
  3. – Encourage the creative industry.
  4. – Training programs and technical assistance.
  5. – Space for organizing various types of events, such as business and work fairs, training and cultural events.

The Center

The center will be suitable for organizing various types of events, such as trade and job fairs, training, and cultural events, making it an especially valuable asset, particularly for the creative sectors. The aim is to provide a space to boost Guinea-Bissau’s vibrant entrepreneurial spirit, cultivate start-ups and foster the necessary capabilities that will generate multiplier effects across the nation and beyond.

The Digital Platform

The digital platform is being designed to support and complement the physical space. The center and the online portal will offer several programs and services with the aim of accelerating the entrepreneurial development of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), allowing them to contribute to the development of competitive, sustainable and resilient businesses.
